What is Living History

At the West Bay Common School Children's Museum, students are invited to enter a setting and participate in activities that aid them to imagine significant events from the past. They will have this experience in the company of others, who participate in the events, analyze them, evaluate various aspects of them, and compare and contrast them with what occurs in the present. History, by definition, concerns the past, which is dead and gone; but it comes alive when students re-envision and engage with it. That is what “Living History” is all about.
